Connecting Communities

The Greater Golden Horseshoe is growing, and you need to get places. Our transit projects will connect new, established and emerging communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe.

Ontario Line

The Ontario Line will be a 15.6-kilometre subway line that will make it faster and easier to travel within Toronto and beyond.

Hazel McCallion LRT

The new transit system will feature 19 stops, travel through two urban growth centres and connect to major transit systems.

Lakeshore West Line

Improvements are underway along the Lakeshore West Line to support more frequent, faster service.

Scarborough Subway

Extending Line 2 subway service 7.8 km farther into the heart of Scarborough.

Durham Scarborough BRT

This proposed bus rapid transit line consists of 36 kilometres of bus rapid transit that would serve Durham and Scarborough.

Our Service Brands

Metrolinx owns and operates GO Transit, UP Express and PRESTO – an integrated transit network that simplifies travel within the region.

GO Transit is the regional public transit service for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, serving more than 70 million passengers per year.

UP Express is a dedicated air-rail link between Toronto Pearson International Airport and downtown Toronto in a 25 minute trip.

PRESTO is an electronic payment system in the Greater Toronto, Hamilton, and Ottawa areas that eliminates the need for tickets, passes and cash.
